Lorry caught avoiding head on collision by seconds

The driver of the oncoming vehicle said she was in tears

A nail-biting dashcam video captured the moment a lorry driver almost collided head on with a car in Lincolnshire.

The video was captured in the early hours of October 13, on a long stretch of the A16, when a HGV driver attempts to overtake.

Oncoming drivers could see the lorry was approaching head on and slowed down in an attempt to get out of the way.

The lorry driver was still driving at speed when they were inches away from crashing into the car head on.

An anonymous driver sent the footage to ‘Idiot drivers in Lincolnshire and the UK’, where many social media users were shocked.

“Sack him now an absolute disgrace,” read one comment. “This is how families are wiped out. I’ve had it happen to me it’s beyond a joke.”

Another commenter claimed to be in the oncoming vehicle, saying that she was in tears.

Kim ‘Kitty’ Lovelace said: “It was me and my daughter in the oncoming small fiat 500. She was asleep. I was in tears and very shaken.”
