Man dies after being trapped under vehicle

The incident was not suspicious, police said

A man died after a car he was working on in a garage fell on him in Crowland over the weekend.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at The Chase, Crowland after 7pm on Saturday, September 29, but no patients were taken to hospital and police have since confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue said that they were called to a “domestic garage” and a “male was working under a car when it fell on him”.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue said: “Crowland crew attended and carried out CPR for a considerable time before the ambulance crew arrived. The crew used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the man. The man was deceased.”

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We were called to The Chase, Crowland, at 7.15pm on Saturday (September 29), to a report that a man was trapped under a vehicle. Sadly, he later died. We are not treating the incident as suspicious.”

A spokesperson for EMAS added: “We received a call at 19:18 on September 29 to an incident on The Chase, Crowland. We sent a paramedic in a fast response vehicle and was supported by East of England Ambulance Service with a paramedic in a fast response vehicle and a double crewed ambulance.”
