Man in critical condition after Scunthorpe field crash

Four people were injured in total

A 28-year-old man is still in a critical but stable condition in hospital and three others were injured when vehicle overturned and landed on its roof in a field near Scunthorpe.

Humberside Police initially reported that the man was in hospital with “life-threatening injuries” after the incident in a field just off Risby Road close to the village of Appleby near Scunthorpe during the evening of Friday, October 5.

A red and grey Subaru Forester 4×4 is believed to have been travelling across a field adjacent to Risby Road at around 11.45pm when it overturned and landed on its roof.

Humberside Police confirmed on Monday, October 8 that the 28-year-old man is still in a critical but stable condition.

A second man, 28, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital and is also in custody after being arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Two other men, aged 21 and 26-years-old, received minor injuries as a result of the collision. They were also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. These two men have been released on bail.
