Men arrested after serious train station assault

The victim suffered fractured eye sockets

Three men have been arrested by British Transport Police in connection with an alleged serious assault at Grantham Railway Station last month which left the victim with fractured eye sockets.

As previously reported, a 28-year-old man suffered severe facial injuries when he got off a train after an evening out in Nottingham and was reportedly set upon by a group of men at the taxi rank outside the station at 9.35pm on Saturday, September 22.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, were initially arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in the town centre and they were released on bail while enquiries continue.

British Transport Police released an update on the situation on Tuesday, October 9 saying: “British Transport Police has arrested three men in connection with a serious assault at Grantham Railway Station on Saturday, September 22.

“The men, who are 20, 21 and 23 years old, and all from Grantham, have been bailed pending further enquiries. We would like to thank the public and the media for their help in sharing this appeal.”
