Month of road closures in Lincoln village from next week

It will affect nine roads in the village

Drivers in a Lincoln village will face almost a month of disruption and road closures due to repair works next week.

The £230,000 project on nine roads in Nettleham – The Dene, The Crescent, Crescent Close, Brookfield Avenue, Midway Close, Riverdale, Ashtree Avenue, Willowfield and Parkside – is set to begin on Wednesday, October 31.

To allow the improvements to be carried out safely each road will be closed while its carriageway is reconstructed and the work is expected to be completed on Monday, November 26.

Executive Member for Highways Councillor Richard Davies said: “We have a number of residential roads across the county that are reaching the end of their life.

“As opposed to just filling in the potholes, we’re spending around £1 million on rebuilding them. That way they should last a lot longer and require less maintenance.

“There will be some local disruption during the improvements, but the short-term inconvenience will be far outweighed by the long-term benefits.”
