New £60k tarmac footpath to link Doddington Road and Hartsholme

The footpath will be closed while workers resurface the route

A popular footpath between Doddington Road and Hartsholme Nature Reserve will be resurfaced.

The current dirt track will close on Monday, October 29 for the £60,000 Lincolnshire County Council project.

Work will be undertaken by Eurovia Construction and will be completed by the end of November.

A county council highways spokesperson said: “The existing path is being used a lot more these days, and can become muddy during bad weather, so we’ve decided to tarmac it.

“We’re also planning to install new fencing, and the end result will be a more pleasant experience for all users.

“Hopefully, this will encourage some people to leave the car at home and use a greener form of transport, helping tackle congestion in the local area.”
