Plans have been submitted to turn a house in Deeping St James into supported accommodation for people with physical or mental support needs.

Service provider For You Healthcare works with people who have support needs across Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire and no wants to use the building on Church Street for a five-bed ‘supported accommodation facility’.

According to documents submitted to South Kesteven District Council, the home will include 24-hour car and support for people from the age of 18.

One of the rooms will be reserved specifically for respite care.

A statement from the company says: “Our aim is to provide a safe supported environment for service users while encouraging and maintaining their independence.

Although the service users will have varying needs, they will be encouraged to live their lives as independently as possible. For example, cooking for themselves, doing their own laundry with as little or as much support as they may need. Service users will be free to come and go as they wish.

The new facility will help with things like personal care, getting ready for the day, support with meals, support with medication, laundry, shopping, going out, getting ready for bed and support during the night.

As well as the five bedrooms, the new accommodation will have communal facilities including two toilets with walk-in shower and wet room, kitchen, lounge, utility room and conservatory.
