Police awards recognise exceptional staff and volunteers

Pride in their communities
One award was accepted by Jenny Rutter on behalf of her daughter Charlotte.

Officers, staff and volunteers were recognised for going above and beyond at the Police Pride awards last night.

Those receiving awards have been praised for their professionalism, dedication and outstanding contributions to the community.

Pride award of the year was given to Charlotter Rutter, who volunteered with Lincolnshire Police to train new officers.

She was described by the team as having strength of character and a zest for life, but she sadly passed away.

The above and beyond award was given to Sandra Walker for taking on additional responsibilities on top of her regular workload.

Most notably, Sandra took on a complex year-long enquiry into child sexual exploitation.

Nicholas Lamb was recognised as special constabulary officer of the year for the support he gives to the team at Sleaford.

He was praised for his efforts during adverse weather and for saving a man’s life with CPR.

Citizen of the year was awarded to Kate for volunteering her time and sharing her experience as a survivor of domestic abuse.

Her commitment to sharing her story has improved the force’s understanding of domestic abus.

During training sessions, Kate speaks bravely about her experience and answers frankly any questions.

Volunteer of the year was given to Ann Brown for her tireless work over the last three years.

She has coped with personal heartbreak but has been determined to carry on her vital work.

Volunteer of the year was also awarded to Christine Ivett after starting with Lincolnshire Police in 2015.

She takes on a lot of roles within the force and is highly valued member of the neighbourhood policing team.

Nine officers were also given the Making a difference award for their role in the foreign language recruitment drive.

All individuals involved in the project worked tirelessly to make this recruitment a success.

Those recognised were Rachel Betts, Simon Cotton, Matthew Dickinson, Beverly French, Amy Kent,  Renata Kosiba, Andy Morrice, David Robinson and Lauren Ward.
