Volunteers help clean up busy Lincoln road

They battled the rain to clean the roadside

A team of volunteers were out in force this weekend help to clean up the busy Tritton Road in Lincoln.

A total of eight volunteers took part in the C.L.E.A.N Tritton Road clean up event on Saturday, October 27, aimed at getting rid of plastic waste and other litter along the main road.

As previously reported,  Clean Lincoln Everywhere and Now (C.L.E.AN) is a free community service which loans equipment and offers advice and support to safely arrange litter pick up events across Lincoln.

The group included volunteers from the YMCA, members of other litter picking groups and individuals who just wanted to show their support and get involved.

The first C.L.E.A.N hub was launched last month to make it easier for residents to participate in the reduction of plastic waste and litter in the city.

The hub is situated at the One NK sports complex in North Hykeham and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Individuals and groups can contact C.L.E.A.N on  Facebook for more information on how to organise a litter clean up event.
