Eight foot Boa constrictor on the loose in Boston

Do not approach the snake

Police are warning people to stay away from Boa constrictor snake which has escaped from a home in Boston.

Update, 1.30pm: The Boa constrictor has still not been found. Lincolnshire Police are now asking people to keep doors and windows closed and to block any external vents such as tumble dryer vents or extractor fan outlets.

The missing snake is around eight foot long and will look to find somewhere warm. This could be a shed, car bonnet, loft etc.

The snake can curl up in a very small space and last for some time without food.

The owner of the reptile reported it missing from the property on Union Street just after 7pm on Wednesday, November 28.

The Boa constrictor is not venomous but should not be approached. It is likely to find somewhere warm, so could be in an area like a garden shed.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “It has white on its tail, with grey, black and brown spots.

“Officers are currently searching for the reptile.”

If anyone sees what they think is a snake in the area, they are being asked to call 999, quoting incident 361 of November 28.
