Candles stolen from Boston Stump Remembrance display

We are “immensely disappointed”

Staff at the Boston Stump have been left feeling “immensely disappointed” after a  cluster of candles were stolen from a display during the Festival of Remembrance.

In a Facebook post Boston Stump said “struggling to understand how – in the midst of this Festival of Remembrance that is remembering the sacrifice of others – so many of our candles have been stolen”.

Verger at Boston Stump Adam Kelk told Lincolnshire Reporter that the candles, which were part of a display and arranged in a formation of ‘1918’, were stolen over the last couple of days during opening hours.

A photo was posted by Boston Stump on Wednesday, November 7 after noticing the candles had been stolen during the Festival of Remembrance, which runs from October 28 until November 11.

Adam said: “We are immensely disappointed as we put this community event on and people have taken from it. We have had thousands of visitors and everything will still go ahead as people have loved the event. We have had some amazing feedback with people coming from all over the country.”
