Officers were called to a “serious” domestic incident

A man from Cleethorpes has been charged with attempted murder after a serious domestic incident.

Officers arrested Andrew Dixon, 34, of Ward Street on suspicion of attempted murder.

Humberside Police were called to the property on Ward Street on Sunday, November 18 after a disturbance.

Ambulance crews called the force at 5.25pm with reports that a woman had suffered potentially life threatening injuries.

The suspect will now appear before Hull Crown Court on Wednesday, December 19 charged with attempted murder.

When officers made the arrest, detective inspector Grant Taylor said: “I would like to thank everyone who has come forward to help us with this investigation. As always, your help is very much appreciated.

“I’d also like to reassure people living in and around Ward Street that we believe this was a targeted, isolated attack and there is no risk to the wider public.

“Our officers are still in the area, both to provide some reassurance and to continue our investigation into the circumstances of the incident.”
