Co-op ATM ram raid vehicles found

Police officers have recovered vehicles believed to have been used in the ram raid at the new Co-op store in North Somercotes, just days after it had opened.

As previously reported, a digger was found at the scene after the new store, located on Conisholme Road, was left with a large hole in the side of the shop during an alleged theft of an ATM on Thursday, November 8.

Police have now confirmed that a white Transit van and a white VW Golf estate have been recovered. The van was found near to Goole on the M18 near to junction 7 for Greenland Farm, Green Lane, East Cowick, which is the M62 junction.

The estate vehicle was found in Gargrave Close, Askern in Doncaster.

Enquiries are still ongoing into the incident and police are appealing for people to check their dash cam footage if they were in either of these two areas, or in North Somercotes between midnight on November 7 and 2pm on November 8.
