Police officer ‘sexually assaulted’ after stopping driver

A police officer was spat on and sexually assaulted when they arrested a female driver on the A1.

Lincolnshire Police were attending a road traffic collision on the A1 near Grantham when they stopped the driver.

Officers arrested the woman on suspicion of drink driving and driving without a license.

The driver then decided to spit in the arresting officer’s face and sexually assaulted them.

Rick Mosley, custody sergeant in Grantham, tweeted about the incident and said that it was “absolutely disgusting, feral behaviour.”

He added: “Shocked and angry. No one comes to work to be physically and sexually assaulted. The support is there.”

Other senior police replied to say they hope that arresting officer was okay and wanted to make sure that they were getting support.
