Revelio! Magical escape rooms open in Lincoln

Have you got what it takes to escape?

Have you got what it takes? A new escape room experience has opened at an old prison at Lincoln College on Monks Road.

Escape Lincoln are taking bookings from 4pm on November 9 for their three new rooms called Sherlock, The Magic Emporium and Contagion.

They have been busy setting up the rooms in Lincoln College’s old Georgian prison and courtroom buildings.

“We’ve carefully crafted rooms that tie in with the history of the building,” Escape Lincoln’s managing director Tom Owen said.

“We’re using a blend of high tech gadgetry and high drama live-actor interaction. The rooms are already getting booked up in the run-up to Christmas.”

The rooms are built for two to six people to enjoy. It is based on team-building exercises where players are locked up in a themed room and must work together to solve a series of challenges in an hour.

Each of the rooms are open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm and cost £20 for adults and £15 for under 16s.

Four more escape games are also being designed and will be opening over the coming months, increasing the maximum number of bookings from 18 to 50 people.

Corporate bookings are also available with groups being split across the three escape rooms.

Mark Taylor, Lincoln College director of commercial and partnerships, said: “We love what the Escape Lincoln team has done. The standard of the rooms is amazing.

“This joint venture project breathes new life into one of our oldest buildings and provides additional income for us to invest in education and training.

“It also brings thousands of people onto our campus to see not only the great learning facilities, but also our great leisure facilities.

“We hope that Escape Lincoln will unlock some of our hidden treasures like our gym, spa pool, steam rooms and our sessions restaurant which anyone can use.”
