Have yourself a very mini Christmas…tree

A full-size replacement will be put up

The festive spirit is in full flow in Lincolnshire with people putting up Christmas trees. Some catch the eye more than others like the miniature one seen in Grimsby.

A 43 foot tree, which was a gift from Norway, arrived in the town a few weeks ago, but it has since been removed from Victoria Street because it is dying.

Branches had fallen and the leaves were discoloured with residents branding it shabby. A miniature replacement is temporarily in its place, although North East Lincolnshire Council said this was not its doing.

A full-size replacement is due to be put up on Thursday, December 13.

A spokesperson for North East Lincolnshire Council said: “I can confirm the small tree that has been put up today is nothing to do with the council.

“The replacement tree is due to go up tomorrow (December 13). It has been sourced locally.”
