Lincoln lumberjack party to raise money for charity

Lincoln fundraiser Iain ‘The Fridge Man’ Maynard will raise more money for Cystic Fibrosis at Christmas with another Lumberjack Party.

Two of Iain’s children – Halle-Rose and Roman – have the genetic disorder. Over the years he has set himself challenges such as running two 10k races with a fridge on his back.

The next fundraising mission is a Lumberjack Party, which will take place at Home Nightclub on December 28 from 7pm.

Last September the former soldier, who was once shot in the head while fighting in Afghanistan, set out on a four day run – 196 miles from Holyhead to Lincoln – to raise money for a cystic fibrosis charity.

He also previously ran the entire length of Hadrian’s Wall in aid of his daughter’s charity – A Challenge for Halle-Rose – which he set up himself to raise money for the two children.

General entry tickets for the Lumberjack Party at Home are priced at £7 (plus a £1 booking fee) – click here for more information. Anyone that dresses up as a Lumberjack gets in for free.

Home said this is the 5th year of raising money for Cystic Fibrosis with Iain. They have teamed up with some event promoters in the city to create “the best event possible under one roof” – LoveDough, District, Sleek and Jacked.

Varski from MTV has also been booked for the event.

To claim an offer of 50% off drinks a special wristband is needed, which can be purchased online or claimed on the door on arrival.

Some of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Lincoln Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit.
