Lincoln village cafe opens to help military veterans

Serving up coffee and a cuddle

A Lincoln man has opened a cafe in Saxilby to help other veterans, by serving up coffee with a cuddle.

Rob Dennison made it his “personal mission” to help people who have served in the military after having a difficult experience.

The 50 Cal Coffee Hub opened in the Allens Corporate Estates and welcomed friends, family and former soldiers.

It is serving up coffee, tea, hot chocolate and food while being a signposting service to offer coaching and counselling for those in need.

He has had a lot of help from the community to get the project built, with people raising £1,170 on a fundraising website.

Rob told The Lincolnite: “I am excited because of the amount of people that we are going to be able to help.

“We are going to bring veterans together with ordinary civilians and make the world a much better place.

“Everyone is welcome and it’s always going to be with a cuddle, a hug or a high five.”
