Teens die in A46 Lincoln crash

Driver arrested and charged

A man and a woman, both aged 19, have died in a crash on the A46 Lincoln early on Saturday morning.

It happened between 12.30am and 12.50am on the A46 between the Carholme and Skellingthorpe roundabouts.

The cars involved were a white Citroen C3 and a blue Ford Mondeo.

The teens, both from the Ford car, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later traced the driver of the Citroen.

A 26-year-old local man was arrested for causing death by dangerous driving, providing a positive breath test and leaving the scene of a collision.

The immediate family of the victims has been informed.

Police are appealing for anyone who was on the bypass around the time of the crash and saw either the white Citroen C3 or the blue Mondeo estate to contact them on 101 (incident 18 of December 22).

The police investigation at the scene has been completed and the road is now re-open.
