Family pay tribute to “devoted mum” killed in A16 crash

Two people remain in hospital with serious injuries

A 46-year-old woman who died after a collision on the A16 Crowland has been named as Katy Cunningham from Peterborough.

The crash on the evening of January 23 involved three vehicles and happened between Crowland and Cowbit. Three other people suffered serious injuries.

Katy, of Temple Grange, died when the grey Peugeot 3008 she was driving collided with a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van.

Katy’s family released a statement in her memory, they said: “Katy was a devoted mum, loving sister, wonderful aunt and an amazing friend to us all.

“She was a shining light and will be greatly missed, especially by her two beautiful children.

“She can now join her daughter Sophie, who sadly died during childbirth 14 years ago.”

An 11-year-old passenger in the Peugeot remains in hospital in critical but stable condition.

A second passenger, an eight-year-old, has now been discharged from hospital.

The driver of the van remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

Cambridgeshire Police is appealing to anyone who has dash-cam footage of the collision or who saw the Vauxhall van prior to the incident to call police on 101 quoting incident 350 of January 23.
