Lincolnshire catering expo cancelled after three decades

Should be back next year though

An annual catering trade show that has been running for over 35 years has been cancelled.

Caterex is a popular show in Skegness which attracts traders from all over the country.

It normally takes place in February, but the organisers have announced the cancellation a couple of weeks before it was set to take place.

A spokesperson for Caterex wrote on their website on Thursday, January 17: “For reasons beyond our control, it is with great regret that the executive have had to take the decision to cancel Caterex 2019.

“There were a number of factors that contributed to this, including illness, which meant that we were unable to deliver the show in 2019.

“Caterex has been in existence for over 35 years and this is the first time the show has been cancelled. As you can imagine, it was not a decision that was taken lightly and we realise a lot of people will be disappointed.”

The organisers of the event went on to thank people for their support and to say that they will be back in 2020.
