Grab your popcorn and head to the woods! A third screen and 74 seat auditorium will open at popular independent cinema Cinema in the Woods in July.
Audiences have been flocking to quirky independent cinema in Woodhall Spa for years but now they are building another screen to keep up with demand.
Work is progressing on the third screen, which is going to be a mirror image of the second screen, and it is expected to open in mid July.
The team have already picked out a grand piano for the intervals and the new screen will help the cinema show a wider range of films.

Philip Jones, manager at Kinema in the Woods, told Lincolnshire Reporter: “The new auditorium will be very important to the longevity of The Kinema as it will enable us to screen a wider range of films and develop new audiences.
“We have decided to go for a more intimate 74 seats so that we can fit a larger style of seat and offer extra legroom.
“At the moment we’re not sure what the first film will be – it is looking like a late June\early July opening so could be Toy Story 4 or The Lion King! We’ll also do a special gala screening of a classic film to an invited audience.
“Everyone here at The Kinema is very excited to see the work progressing and we can’t wait for the grand opening!”
The proposed plans.
As previously reported, the development will create one new full-time job and several part time roles.
Workers are also making minor alterations to the original building to add a linking building.
The owner has also expanded the car park at the cinema by creating a further 108 spaces.

Police are now investigating an incident of suspected arson after nine articulated trailers containing plastic pellets caught fire in a village near Gainsborough in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue were called to the incident on Learoyd Road in Hemswell Cliff at 3.50am on Wednesday, April 21. Crews from Gainsborough, Market Rasen and a water carrier from Holbeach attended, initially with crews from Kirton in Lindsey from Humberside Fire & Rescue.
The last crew didn’t leave the scene until over seven hours later at 11.20am. As it was suspected to be a deliberate fire the matter has now been referred on to Lincolnshire Police.

A lorry driver caused a fatal head-on collision when he drove on the wrong side of the road shortly after stopping off for a break, Lincoln Crown Court heard on Wednesday.
Tiberiu Dori parked up for 40 minutes in a layby alongside the A15 near Cranwell before setting off to continue his journey to Wiltshire.
But within a minute, his Volvo HGV was on the wrong side of the road and he struck an approaching BMW being driven by respected RAF serviceman Chris Showell.
Cpl Showell, who was on his way to work as a chef at RAF Waddington, had no chance to avoid a collision with the front of his vehicle ending up embedded in the lorry. He suffered fatal injuries.
Andrew Scott, prosecuting, said that Dori was working a night shift and had driven a lorry load of eggs from Chippenham to Milton Keynes, where he dropped them off at a Waitrose store.
He then continued his shift driving on to Scopwick where he picked up a new load of 300,000 eggs and was heading back to his base at Chippenham.
Mr Scott said: “The collision occurred on Mr Showell’s side of the road. The Volvo lorry was completely on the wrong side of the road.”
The prosecutor said Dori had parked in a layby on the opposite side of the road to the carriageway he was driving in and the more likely reason for what happened is that he set off after his break on the wrong side of the road.
The fatal collision occurred just 200 metres from the layby.
“The defendant was perhaps operating on auto-pilot thinking he was driving on the continent.
“The other possibility is that Dori was driving on his correct side of the road and has then allowed his vehicle to drift onto the wrong side of the road. The prosecution does not have all the pieces of the jigsaw and accepts it is impossible to say what happened.”
Mr Scott said that the more likely scenario is that Dori set off on the wrong side of the road.
The court heard that tests showed Dori had not been drinking or taking alcohol and he was not speeding. His mobile phone was checked and he had not been using it at the time of the collision. The lorry tachograph records showed he was driving within his permitted hours.
Dori denied that he had travelled on the wrong side of the road from leaving the layby and said that he set off on his correct side and then ended up on the opposite carriageway.
He admitted responsibility for the fatal collision and his barrister Christopher Martin said: “He genuinely cannot explain why the collision occurred.
“He was driving at 29mph at the point of the collision. He had travelled 200 metres. The time taken to travel that distance was less than a minute.”
Mr Martin said Dori drove 60,000 miles a year for work and had an exemplary driving record with a clean licence both in the UK and in his native country of Romania.
“He was intending to drive to the nearest petrol station and get himself a coffee. He does not know how his vehicle went onto the wrong side of the road.”
Dori, 34, of Devizes, Wiltshire, admitted causing death by dangerous driving as a result of the collision on the A15 at Dunsby Hollow, Lincolnshire, just before 5am on April 16, 2020.
He was jailed for 20 months and banned from driving for two years and 10 months. He was also ordered to pass an extended retest before he can legally drive again.
Recorder Charles Falk said he could not be certain of the circumstances and he sentenced on the basis that Dori set off on his correct side of the road and then went onto the wrong side.
The Recorder told Dori: “Driving an HGV completely on the wrong side of a fast moving road is obviously going to have devastating consequences for anyone coming the other way.
“All I can be sure about is that this was a few minutes of inattention but as a professional driver this was a serious lapse.”
“Christopher Showell never stood a chance. There was a head-on collision and in all likelihood he died instantly. His death is entirely your fault.
Cpl Showell’s fiancee Annie Hickman, in a victim impact statement, said she has been left devastated by his death.
“I miss him every minute of every day. His laughter, his amazing food, his love and kindness. I will love and miss him every day for the rest of my life.”
Lincolnshire Police said they do not have a custody photo of Tiberiu Dori.
A Lincoln man, who is being played by Vinnie Jones in a new film, created a video with the former footballer turned actor, and other celebrity contacts, to help promote fundraising efforts at his son’s school, Nocton Community Primary School, who are looking to improve their outdoor area.
Vinnie Jones will play Bernard O’Mahoney in crime drama film Rise of The Footsoldier: Origins, the fifth instalment of the franchise that first launched in 2007. It was due to be released this spring, but has now been pushed back until November.
Josh Myers, Terry Stone and George Russo who star in the film were among those to feature in the video promoting the school’s fundraising raffle, along with Love Island’s Chris Hughes.
Former footballer Brian Dear, who was part of the West Ham side who won the Cup Winners Cup in the 1964/65 season, also made an appearance.
Bernard told The Lincolnite then when he was invited down for filming with Vinnie for his cameo role in the movie he asked him to do a video to support the school, which other stars also helped with.
Some of the filming took place at Southend United Football Club and Brian Dear was there that day and also agreed to feature.
Bernard’s son Paddy also features in the video and is a pupil at Nocton Community Primary School.
Bernard said: “It is an unbelievable school and the staff there work incredibly hard. We always try to help with the school fete and fundraising.”
Nocton Community Primary School, which has 32 pupils, is currently fundraising to develop its outdoor and early years areas, as well as for school equipment and to help the pre-school which is being added in September.
Normally they hold a popular annual summer fete. Last year this was not possible due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the fundraising team still managed to raise thousands of pounds.
This year they are again holding a fundraising raffle. Depending on the government roadmap dates nearer the time, the school would also like to hold an alternative scaled down version of their usual summer fete if possible.
Mrs Emma Hill is the Executive Headteacher at the Spires Federation, which includes Nocton, Dunston and Digby primary schools.
She told The Lincolnite: “With being a small school, fundraising makes such a big difference. The fundraising team are incredibly enthusiastic.
“We are also incredibly grateful to Bernard for his enthusiastic support and we will be sad to lose Paddy at the end of term as he prepares to start his secondary school journey.”
Anyone wishing to support the fundraising can email at the school at [email protected].
The school also communicated with international nurses from Malta and Singapore during the coronavirus pandemic, who have been helping at Lincoln County Hospital. The pupils made posters and artworks to give to the nurses to brighten up their accommodation.
The school also held a special assembly earlier this year, including a fundraising raffle, to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy as one of their pupils Riley Kaye was diagnosed with the condition.

Bernard said the film is about the origins of the gang, dubbed by the media as The Essex Boys after the famous Rettendon murders. The gang originally had Bernard and Tony Tucker before Patrick Tate and Craig Rolfe joined later.
Bernard, who moved to Lincoln in 2006, filmed his non-speaking cameo role as a doorman with Vinnie Jones around two months ago and is looking forward to seeing the film when it is released.
He said. “I was involved with the script writers in the early stages when they were checking facts. I was reluctant to do it at first, but enjoyed it.
“Filming has now finished and it is in the hands of the production team. I just hope the editor is kind, but I look forward to seeing it.”
