Prolific offender banned from Boston shops

He has been arrested numerous times since 2015

A 41-year-old man, who has been arrested several times since 2015, has been handed a two-year ban from entering shops in Boston town centre.

Shaun Overton, 41, of no fixed address, was found guilty of shop theft when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.

He has been arrested numerous times for various offences since 2015 including theft, drug offences and failing to comply.

Magistrates issued Overton with a 10 week suspended prison sentence and a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order.

The CBO, which runs until January 3 2021, means Overton is prohibited from entering any retail outlet within the designated public place orders area of Boston.

It also forbids him from acting in a manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person in the borough of Boston.

If Overton breaches any of the conditions it would be considered an offence, which he could be arrested for and face up to five years in jail.

Anyone suspecting Overton of disobeying the order, or who has any relevant information, should contact police on 101.
