Train disruption after lorry hits level crossing

This has caused significant disruption

Update: National Rail said trains between Nottingham/Newark North Gate and Lincoln are now able to run normally.


A lorry has collided with a level crossing in Collingham, causing disruption to several East Midlands Trains services.

Network Rail is investigating the issue which happened between Newark Castle and Lincoln. The team is on site and the barriers have now been lifted so traffic should be moving.

The disruption is affecting East Midlands Trains’ services on the Leicester/Nottingham/Lincoln routes. The trains cannot run between Newark Castle/Newark Northgate and Lincoln.

Disruption is expected until 11am.

East Midlands Trains said: “We don’t yet know accurately how long it will take for services to begin normally again along the route.”

“You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

“We are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move.”
