Lincoln Office Outlet puts on closing down sale

A buyer is still being sought

Office Outlet’s Lincoln store has launched a closing down sale. Redundancies have already been made at the company’s head office and distribution centre, but no staff in Lincoln have lost their jobs yet.

As previously reported, around 1,200 UK jobs were potentially at risk when Office Outlet was put up for sale earlier this month.

Closing down stickers are currently up at the Lincoln store, but there is no date set for any closure yet. The new Lincoln Office Outlet store only opened at the Valentine Retail Park in November 2018.

Office Outlet’s stores will keep trading whilst a buyer is sought. The business is still being marketed for sale.

The company has over 90 stores nationwide and around 1,200 employees. It sells office supplies, business technology and copy and print services to businesses, homes and schools.

Restructuring partners at Deloitte were appointed on March 18 as joint administrators to SUK Retail Limited (trading as Office Outlet).

A statement from Deloitte said: “The joint administrators to SUK Retail Limited t/a Office Outlet are announcing 106 redundancies at the company’s head office and distribution centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

“The stores will keep trading whilst a buyer is sought as the business is still being marketed for sale.”
