Persistent speeder fined after driving over 150mph

He was caught three times in one week

A 36-year-old man caught driving over 150mph in Lincolnshire was fined over £1,700 after he was caught speeding three times in one week.

He was also banned from driving for a year at a sentencing hearing on March 5.

As previously reported, Linas Gedminas of Stumpacre, Bretton, Peterborough was caught on camera speeding in his Audi S8 three times in one week on the A17 near Long Sutton.

An initial hearing at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on December 10 heard Gedminas clocked speeds of 151mph, 145mph and 78mph in June 2018.

He was convicted of three counts of speeding in his absence at the first hearing.

At the time Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership previously said the 151mph was the highest speed recorded on camera in the county.

This has since been ‘beaten’ as a Porsche 911 driver was recently caught driving at 156mph on a motorway in Brigg.

Humberside Police clocked the sports car driver on the M180 in North Lincolnshire on Sunday, March 3. The driver was pulled over and reported to be dealt with at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court.
