Sleaford Road to close for five weekends

Five weekends between April and June

Drivers in the Bracebridge Heath area will face five weekends of disruption due to roadworks starting next month.

As part of the Eastern Bypass works, the A15 Sleaford Road will be closed for a series of five weekends between April and June. This will allow for ducting works and utility diversions to take place.

All of the closures will take place from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Monday.

Weekend closure list

  • April 27-29
  • May 18-20
  • June 1-3
  • June 8-10
  • June 15-17

The diversion route for the closure will be via A607 Lincoln Road to B1178 White Lane/Tower Lane, and vice versa.

Executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor Richard Davies, said: “Similar to Lincoln Road, closing Sleaford Road in the week would cause too much disruption, so we’ve decided to carry out these essential ducting works and utility diversions over the course of five weekends instead.

“These ducting works are an important part of building the bypass as they’re essential for powering the street lights that will be put in and for re-routing BT cables.

“The team will do its very best to finish these works early so we don’t need to close Sleaford Road for all five weekends.

“However, we’re asking all road users to keep patient and remember that this closure, along with all of the other bypass roadworks, will be well worth it once the new road is officially opened next spring.”
