Two arrested and released as babies battle for life in hospital

A man and a woman were arrested

A man and a woman have been released under investigation after two baby twins under the age of one were taken to hospital in a life threatening condition.

Lincolnshire Police received the reports at around 5pm on March 27 that a boy was seriously ill and taken to hospital. Later the same day, the boy’s twin brother was also taken to hospital seriously ill.

It is unclear if the children have suffered a medical episode at this time. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

Officers guarded a property on Granville Street in Boston in connect with the investigation. At the time police said a 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Lincolnshire Police has since confirmed that a 20-year-old woman was also arrested. Both have now been released under investigation. Police added that the condition of the babies remains unchanged.

Detective inspector Lee St Quinton previously said: “This is clearly a sensitive case for the family involved. We are working closely with the family at this difficult time to establish the facts of the matter.”
