Work starts on first vegan B&B in Lincoln

It is believed to be the first vegan B&B in the whole of Lincolnshire

Work has started on a new vegan Bed and Breakfast in the city, which is believed to be the first of its kind in Lincolnshire.

Twigs & Leaves Vegan B&B will open its doors and serve up plant-based treats for the very first time this April.

It is based in a Grade II listed cottage and barn conversion in the village of Eagle, just seven miles south-west from the city centre.

Head chef and owner Helen Bishop will cook up vegan versions of a full English breakfast, evening meals and even a Sunday roast on request for guests.

Head chef and owner has been spending the last two months decorating.

The B&B has a twin bedroom with a large private bathroom and double bedroom with an ensuite shower room for £70 a night.

Helen Bishop, 53, told The Lincolnite: “I became a vegan three years ago because I love animals. I think it’s important to create a space where veggies don’t have to worry about what they’re eating.

“People don’t always understand that there are lots of options for vegans to eat. We’ll serve up vegan sausages, avocado, spinach, beans, toast and plenty more for breakfast.

“I even make my own vegan butter that I’m excited for people to try. I called it Twigs & Leaves because it is a play on what people think vegans eat.

“I’m eager to get started and open our doors to the first guests, but I want to make sure that I get it right the first time around.”

Helen is working by herself on decorating the house and on a website where people can book their stay.

A dining room to tuck into those vegan delights.

Both rooms come with hot drink making facilities, Wi-Fi, hairdryers, towels and even complimentary cruelty-free toiletries.

Downstairs guests can find a dining room and cozy lounge, which comes with a TV and a log burner.

The owners have a no children policy to maintain the B&B as a place of peace and quiet. Dogs are also not allowed, as the owners have their own pets.
