Final backing for 100 homes in Pinchbeck

Final approval for the plan

South Holland District Council has given final approval for 100 new homes in a Lincolnshire village.

The plan will see the houses built on the Keston Nursery site, Mill Green Road, in Pinchbeck near Spalding.

Proposals had been approved by the authority in July 2017, but have since been given final backing.

A plan for 200 homes on the site by AMJ Construction Ltd was rejected by the council in November 2016.

The authority said the development would cause “significant and demonstrable harm” to the village.

But, following a resubmission of the plan in 2017 by the developer , the council approved plans for 100 homes on the site.

The applicant said in their plans that the plan would help the authority meet its housing targets.

It said: “The proposal assists in the local planning authority meeting the requirement for a five-year housing land supply and is acceptable in all other respects.”
