Get bready: Opening date set for new Steep Hill bakery

Bakery delights you knead to try

An opening date has been set for a new artisan bakery in the Steep Hill area of Lincoln.

As previously reported, Vine’s Bakery is opening in place of Bird’s Yard at 61 Steep Hill after the independent gift shop closed at the end of February.

Vine’s Bakery will open at 10am on Friday, April 5.

Vine’s Bakery specialises in sourdough and slow fermentation bread. It also makes a wide range of pastries.

It will sell sourdough, rye, challah, bagel, croissant, Lincolnshire plum loaf and other daily specials.

The owner Emma Vine is the fifth generation of family bakers. She wants to follow in the footsteps of her great-great grandfather Edwin Vine who opened the first shop in 1904.

The company said: “We’re so excited to be able to share our fantastic products with you, come along and see us.”

Vine’s Bakery says it only uses the best quality ingredients. It uses time tested techniques to ensure that their products are to the customers’ satisfaction.
