Upcoming Lincoln Eastern Bypass road closures

Dates for your diary

Drivers will need to watch out for a number of road closures and restrictions in the coming weeks as part of work on the Lincoln Eastern Bypass.

As reported previously, the A15 Sleaford Road will close for five weekends from the end of April.

There will also be off-peak, weekday traffic signals on this stretch of road near Bracebridge Heath until May 9.

Upcoming traffic restrictions are as follows:

  • Full lane closure on Washingborough Road with 2-way traffic signals from 7pm Friday 12 April to 6am Monday 15 April
  • Weekend-only road closure on A15 Sleaford Road from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Monday on 27-29 April, 18-20 May, 1-3 June, 8-10 June and 15-17 June
  • Off-peak 2-way traffic signals Monday to Friday (9:30am – 3:30pm) from Monday 29 April to 9 May on A15 Sleaford Road

The full road closure on Greetwell Road will finally be lifted on Saturday, April 6.

Executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor Richard Davies, said previously: “Similar to Lincoln Road, closing Sleaford Road in the week would cause too much disruption, so we’ve decided to carry out these essential ducting works and utility diversions over the course of five weekends instead.

“These ducting works are an important part of building the bypass as they’re essential for powering the street lights that will be put in and for re-routing BT cables.

“The team will do its very best to finish these works early so we don’t need to close Sleaford Road for all five weekends.

“However, we’re asking all road users to keep patient and remember that this closure, along with all of the other bypass roadworks, will be well worth it once the new road is officially opened next spring.”
