Severed foot not linked to missing teenager

National media reports suggested that could have been connected to her disappearance

Police have confirmed that a severed foot found in Grimsby is not linked to missing teenager Leah Croucher.

National media reports suggested that investigators were looking into whether the foot was connected to Leah’s disappearance.

The missing 19-year-old girl vanished without a trace from her Milton Keynes home on February 15.

As previously reported, initial examinations of a human foot found in New Waltham on April 25 indicated that it was deliberately dismembered at “some point in the last 12 months.”

The experts believe the foot is that of a woman around 160cm tall, or approximately 5 feet 2 inches.

However, Humberside Police have now told Lincolnshire Reporter that they are not connecting the two cases.

Chief Inspector Alan Curtis said today: “We recently received information making us aware of missing Milton Keyes teenager Leah Croucher.

“We have been working with our colleagues at Thames Valley Police and can confirm that we are not connecting the two cases.

“We have yet to be able to identify the woman whose foot was found on the 25 April 2019 on a path off Louth Road in New Waltham. We are working with the national missing persons unit and continue to explore every piece of information provided to us.”

Chief Inspector Neil Kentish, from the Milton Keynes police force, also said: “I still believe that someone, somewhere, has a vital piece of information which will help us to find Leah.

“If you have, and for whatever reason you haven’t already come forward, I would urge you to think of Leah’s family and contact the police.”

Anyone with information of Leah’s whereabouts is being urged to call 101 and quote reference number 43190049929.
