South Lincoln delays due to Boultham Park road closure

Traffic delays have also occurred on Tritton Road

Lengthy delays caused frustration for drivers in the Boultham Park and Tritton Road areas of Lincoln.

As previously reported, roadworks to create a new sewer connection caused a section of Boultham Park Road to be closed from Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.

The area near the bend at Hall Drive will be closed and the diversion route is Dixon Street/Tritton Road/Skellingthorpe Road and vice versa.

The road closure will last until Sunday, June 2.

Drivers already noticed an impact travelling into the city on Tuesday, May 28, particularly in the Tritton Road area.

The disruption is also affecting local bus routes – services 6, 9 and 553 will divert. Click here for more information.

The delays have already caused frustration for several drivers, including Faye Etcell. She posted in the Facebook group “Lincoln Traffic & Roadworks” on Tuesday morning saying Lincoln was at a standstill and she had been “queuing the length of Tritton Road for 15 minutes”.

A highways spokesperson at Lincolnshire County Council previously said: “The works at Boultham Park Road are being carried out by a private contractor and involve the creation of a new sewer connection to a property. We have asked that the works be carried out during half-term week, when traffic will be lighter.”
