Temperatures to fall over Bank Holiday weekend

Cold weather is predicted with winds and even some showers

Forecasters are predicting cold weather, with wind and showers for Lincolnshire over the Bank Holiday weekend.

In a sharp contrast with the Easter Bank Holiday where the weather was over 20°, this weekend will feel closer to the 8° mark.

A northernly breeze will cut through the high pressure pressure to bring a colder than average May Bank Holiday.

Snow is even predicted for some of the most northern parts of the country.

Back in Lincolnshire, there is a chance of showers and the sky will be mostly cloudy over the three-day weekend.

The Met Office is predicting moderate UV levels from Saturday to Monday.

Saturday, May 4: Make the most of the sunshine in the morning, which will turn cloudy by late morning.

There will be average temperatures of around 8° throughout the day, with a 50% chance of rain from lunchtime until the evening.

Sunday, May 5: In a similar style to the previous day, the sun will make an appearance in the morning before the wether turns overcast by lunchtime.

We will see a slightly high average temperature at around 10°, with lows of around 5°.

Monday, May 6: The last day of the Bank Holiday will see some sunny intervals, changing to a much more cloudy day by around lunchtime.

Another mild day is expected with temperatures as high as 12° and as low as 5°.

Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said: “Night frosts are possible, but at the moment the long weekend looks largely dry, and there will be sunny spells for many as well.

“No heatwave, but temperatures by day will only be a little bit below average.”
