Woman in court charged with attempted murder through stabbing

The victim was stabbed in the chest

A woman has appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted murder.

Susan Wheeler, 62, was arrested by police on May 29 after a man was stabbed in the centre of his chest with a knife.

The court heard how the incident happened at a home on Obthorpe Lane in Thurlby.

As a result of the stabbing, a man was rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. He remains stable at Peterborough City Hospital.

When Mrs Wheeler appeared in court, she only spoke to confirm her name and that she understood the charge of attempted murder.

Mrs Wheeler was dressed in all grey clothing at the court with glasses and red nail varnish. She only spoke to confirm her name and blew kisses to her children.

Her application for bail was denied and Susan Wheeler was immediately remanded in custody before the next hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on June 28.

No plea was entered at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court. The trial continues.
