Community arts shop closes suddenly

It opened just under two months ago

A community arts shop has closed without notice in what appears to be a dispute with the landlord.

The Point Creative Hub & Shop opened on St Martins Lane in the former Bee Hive shop on April 20.

But the shop manager announced that it has closed its doors for good after just under two months.

Gemma Baker said: “We are absolutely devastated to announce that we were evicted without notice and the locks have been changed.

“Our absolute first priority is to ensure that all sellers are able to get their stock and our volunteers are able to access their belongings.

“We’re pretty heartbroken right now but this won’t be the end of The Point. The arts are vital and we will find a new space.”
