Lincoln volunteers pick up over 40 bags of rubbish

Great work once again by all of those who were out over the weekend

Local volunteers were out over the weekend clearing over 40 bags of rubbish from the streets of Lincoln.

Around 20 people were out on Saturday, June 15 picking up litter from the Sincil Bank area of the city.

Lots of small wrappers and cans were cleaned up as well as larger items like office chairs and even a hire bike.

Nick Rawsthorne said: “We even had four US service personnel who helped with others to do some sterling work.

“It was decided that due to the Sincil Drain running so high and fast, that the Rivercare tidy was not feasible.

“We have also reported a fly tipping incident near Gowts Bridge where evidence has been found from the culprit.

“Once again, decent people have sorted out the mess left by thoughtless people who should know better.”
