Motorcyclist dies after crash near Stamford

The driver of the car was not injured

A 47-year-old man has died after the motorbike he was riding crashed with a car near Stamford on Sunday.

Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after the crash in Toll Bar, Little Casterton just after 10am on Sunday, June 2.

Officers were called to the incident involving a black Skoda Kodiaq car and a silver Kawasaki motorbike. The Skoda was travelling towards Old North Road, and the Kawasaki in the opposite direction, when the crash occurred.

The rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured, police said.

The road was closed from the Toll Bar junction to Little Casterton while officers carried out their enquiries.

DC Louise McMahon from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and saw either vehicle prior to the incident or the incident itself and has not yet spoken to police, please make contact.

“Similarly if you have any dashcam footage that might help with our investigation please come forward.”
