Empty Lincolnshire homes worth over £484m

New research also revealed that 239 homes have been empty for longer than ten years
North East Lincolnshire Council want to work with developers to bring properties back into use.

Thousands of homes are left empty in Lincolnshire and new research claims that they are worth over £484 million.

More than 278,000 homes have sat empty across Britain for longer than six months, with 3,351 of those in Lincolnshire.

Researchers at insurance provider Admiral has combined government figures with freedom of information requests.

According to their research, the West Lindsey district has the highest proportion of long-term empty homes with 14 in every 1,000 properties.

Delving further into the numbers across Lincolnshire, 239 homes have sat empty for longer than ten years.

Using the median house price for each of the district’s homes which have been empty for longer than two years are worth over £484,000,000.
