Man suffers bleed to brain after reported Cleethorpes assault

He is in hospital being treated for serious head injuries

A 24-year-old man is in hospital with serious head injuries and a bleed to the brain after an alleged assault in Cleethorpes.

It happened on St Peter’s Avenue just after 3am on Sunday, July 28. The victim was reportedly knocked unconscious and suffered a bleed to the brain, a blood clot and a fractured skull.

The man from Lincolnshire was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not said to be life threatening.

Humberside Police said: “We are appealing for information in connection with this. The suspect we want to find has been described as a white man in his mid 20s with brown hair, around 5 foot 10 and skinny.

“He was wearing blue jeans and a white top with grey shoulders. He could have been riding a bicycle.”

Police believe there were a number of witnesses in the area at the time, who they would like to speak with.
