Over 50 new affordable homes now ready in Waddington

Builders handed over the keys this week

Over 50 new affordable homes in Waddington are complete after builders handed over the keys on the new Boolean Fields development.

The final 38 of 51 properties on Station Road were handed over to Longhurst Group on Tuesday.

The homes include 30 shared ownership properties and 21 others which will be offered for affordable rent. They were completed by Lindum Group on land at the junction of Brant Road and Station Road.

All houses also come complete with fitted kitchens and there are 98 car parking spaces in the development.

Prices range from The Hamilton (a two-bedroom terraced house from £57,000) to The Branston and The Cambridge (both three-bedroom semi-detached houses from £76,000). This is for a 40% share of the house.

The properties are available on a shared ownership basis with the option to purchase between 40% to 75% share of the lease.

For example, at The Hamilton a cost of £57,500 represents a 50% share of ownership and a monthly rent of £201.13, including building insurance and management company charges.

The development is named after George Boole, the famed mathematician who was once headmaster at Hall’s Academy in Waddington.

Lindum Construction Manager Michael Glynn said: “The project has gone extremely well and has been delivered ahead of schedule.”

Corporate Sales Manager at Longhurst Group, Chris Parkinson, said “A lot of hard work has gone into this site, from the design, to the build and even the name. We felt it was important to give it a name that linked to the local area and there was no better way of doing that than naming it after renowned mathematician George Boole.”
