Telegraph pole crushes car on busy Horncastle road

The police had to close off the road for a couple of hours

A car was crushed by a telegraph pole on a busy Horncastle road, causing long delays in the area.

Pictures from the scene showed the aftermath of when a red Suzuki Ignis car crashed into the pole on the A153 south of the town.

The road was closed at around 9.30am to allow for emergency services to attend the crash and it reopened at 11.30am.

A police spokesperson said: “A red Suzuki Ignis collided with a telegraph pole which snapped at the bottom of the pole.

“The driver, a female, received minor injuries but was not taken to hospital.”
