Cricket: Bracebridge Heath second after beating league leaders

It was the only Division 3 clash on Sunday

Bracebridge Heath’s 2nd XI moved up into second place in the Lincoln & District League Division 3 after a home victory against league leaders Bassingham.

Bassingham, who were previously unbeaten in five games, won the toss and decided to bat first in Sunday’s only Division 3 match.

Joseph Broomfield and Tom Scott top scored for Bassingham with 23 and 20 runs respectively as the visitors finished their innings on a score of 110 all out.

Will Davies took four wickets for Bracebridge Heath, with Madu Soyasosa, James Pudney and Jack Moore each taking two apiece.

Matt Whitehouse hit an impressive 63 runs in reply for Bracebridge Heath as the hosts claimed victory with a score of 114/4 in 12.4 overs.

Bracebridge Heath were also helped by contributions from James Hillsmith and Max Moor, who scored 18 and 20 runs respectively.
