Lincoln strongman to pull 53-seater luxury coach for charity

He will also deadlift a car

A Lincoln strongman is getting ready for his next challenge on Saturday – pulling a 53-seater luxury coach and deadlifting a car.

Dave Johnson is no stranger to strongman challenges having hauled a double decker bus across St Marks shopping centre in July 2018 and pulling a truck as Santa in December.

Dave has been undertaking challenges for eight years in memory of his friend Mark Browne, who passed away in 2012 after a battle with cancer.

This summer’s challenge will see Dave pull a luxury 53-seater coach with passengers on it and deadlift a car at St Marks shopping Centre on Saturday, August 3.

The coach pull will take place at around 2.30pm with the car deadlift soon after.

He won’t be doing it alone either as this year Dave has decided he will race with a special guest  – strongman and world record holder Mark Anglesea – and time the distance to “make it more interesting”.

Dave told The Lincolnite: “I am putting the car deadlift in as well, as the bus is likely to weigh less, but I am going to go for timed distance.

“Although it’s a luxury coach it should have some decent weight to it and I’m looking forward to it.”

Dave will be raising money for the Ethan Maul Foundation, Let Them Eat Cake and High Five for Ollie. People can donate on the day or via the charities’ Facebook pages.

There will also be a bouncy castle and food stalls at the event.
