Local lad turns taps back on at popular pub

The new owner also wants people to bring dogs!

A local lad will turn the taps back on at a popular pub after the venue was suddenly closed by the previous owners.

Dan Neale will reopen The West End Tap on Newland Street West with a launch party on Friday, August 16 at 7pm.

As previously reported, Lincoln Tap Pubs Ltd ended their lease agreement in May for The West End Tap and Lincoln Tap House & Kitchen in the Bailgate.

The new owner was made redundant by the move but saw it as a chance to make his landlord debut.

“One thing that’s become clear is that everyone has a love for the place and an eagerness for it to do well,” said 30-year-old Dan.

“Since working towards reopening, the amount of support I’ve had from friends, locals, and regulars has been amazing.

“Without sounding too cliché this is a dream come true for me and I can’t wait to get open and start a new chapter for myself and The West End Tap.”

The pub will be reopening its doors to everyone with DJ sets, live music, a Sunday buffet and a selection of beers and ales.

Dan added: “Having worked at the West End Tap before, I have a real insight into the place, the kind of pub it is and the potential it has.

“We will be keeping the quizzes, open mic nights, vinyl nights and regular live music events.

“But we have lots of exciting events in the pipeline too so we will see you for a pint soon. Bring dogs!”
