Man in hospital after Lincoln stabbing

Cordons are in place in various locations

A man in his 20s is in hospital with injuries not believed to be serious after being found with stab wounds on Wednesday night.

The incident was reported to police at 11.33pm on Wednesday, August 21 after a man was found with stab wounds on Walnut Place in Lincoln.

He was taken to Lincoln County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police are investigating the incident and various cordons are in place in the area, but no arrests have yet been made.

We sent a reporter to the scene who could see trails of blood leading up to the police cordon, where another large puddle of blood was left.

A number of people also contacted The Lincolnite saying blood stains could be seen on the pavement.

A family member of the person allegedly stabbed said the man suffered four stab wounds to the leg and bottom area. It is understood he is in a stable condition.

They claimed the wound to the shin is to be 4cm deep and wide, with the other wounds around 3cm deep and wide.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “As part of our investigations, cordons are expected to remain in place in various locations including Walnut Place, Chelmsford Street and Sincil Bank, until later this morning (August 22nd).

“No arrests have been made and we are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact us on 101, quoting reference 528 of August 21.”
