Quiet village in stand-off with emu

Lincolnshire Police said they were b-emu-sed by the call

A quiet Lincolnshire village which has been in a stand-off with an emu was forced to call in the police.

Lincolnshire Police were drafted in to help on Thursday, September 5 after people reported the bird in Uffington, near Stamford.

The force tweeted: “Whilst people may see the humorous side please be wary that these birds are large and fast.”

Anyone with information is being urged to call 101 with incident 176 of September 5.
