Lincoln business to spread a little “JOY” this Christmas

Giant festive lettering is planned for the Corn Exchange

A Lincoln estate agent is looking to spread a little “JOY” this Christmas with a festive decoration on the Cornhill.

Banks Long and Co, based on Westgate, has applied to the City of Lincoln, on behalf of Lincolnshire Co-op, to place some giant festive lettering outside the currently unoccupied properties of 5&6 Corn Exchange.

The lettering will be made of illuminated gold metal frames and a wreath-type illuminated ‘O’ big enough for someone to stand under.

In documents before the authority, the company says: “This temporary lettering will be used to create a festive feeling in the area which will increase the appearance of the areas for the public as they do their Christmas shopping during their holidays.

“This will give the public a great view and an opportunity to get a festive picture with the new developments including the cinema and Sincil Street.”
