Ice warning issued for Lincoln

Several flood warnings and alerts are in place in Lincolnshire

A Met Office yellow weather warning for ice will be in place in Lincoln on Friday, with some icy stretches likely on the roads in the morning.

The warning will be in place from 12.15am until 10am on Friday, November 29.

The Met Office has issued guidance of what to expect during the warning, which is as follows:

  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

In addition, there are currently two flood warnings and 18 flood alerts in place affecting Lincolnshire, according to the Government’s flood information service.

Flood warnings

Two flood warnings are in place, meaning flooding is expected and immediate action is required in the following areas at the time of writing:

Flood alerts

At the time of writing, 18 flood alert are in place, meaning flooding is possible and to be prepared in the following areas:

  • Bain Catchment
  • Barlings Eau and Duckpool Catchwater
  • Burstwick and Keyingham Drains
  • East and West Fens
  • Groundwater flooding south of the Humber Estuary
  • Humber estuary from Spurn Point to Winestead Outfall
  • Humber Tributaries
  • Lincolnshire East Coast Rivers
  • Louth Canal and Waithe Beck
  • Lower River Ancholme
  • Lower River Witham
  • Minor Watercourses in North Kesteven
  • North Sea coast at Withernsea, Easington and Kilnsea
  • Rase and Upper Ancholme
  • River Foulness and Market Weighton catchment
  • River Steeping
  • River Trent from Cromwell Weir to Gainsborough
  • Witham in North Kesteven
